About Jordan
In all honesty, I didn't plan on a marketing career.
Growing up, I was certain that I was destined for the bright lights of Broadway. In my formative years, I found myself jockeying between politics, human services and nonprofits, which eventually led to a nearly completed degree in web programming and a small web design business.
Marketing was an afterthought. A suggestion made by a close friend who witnessed me once again unwilling to latch on to a career. So, I enrolled in a local college and started off down the path towards a marketing degree.
It was there that I had an amazing revelation. Actually, it wasn't just a revelation; it was more like love at first site.
It was, and is, a calling and a passion for a profession that I had always dabbled in, but failed to understand the connection. Working in politics was actually sales, human services was a crash course in understanding relationships and behavior, and my title at the nonprofit was "Membership and Marketing Coordinator". Finally, I had found the perfect match for my innately curious personality, and I could engage both sides of my brain-the creative and the analytical.
So, here I am, a decade later, still energized, still completely passionate about marketing.
I am happy to say that I've never stopped learning. I have had the pleasure of working in several areas of marketing. I've done right brained creative work, and I've performed left brained strategy. I have managed budgets, campaigns, people, plans, projects and three of my own businesses.
I have learned that smart marketing makes for successful marketing, and that it doesn't take rocket science to figure out a formula that works. Just get the right building blocks in place and you'll create the foundation for successful communications.
Emerson once said that "Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm."
I believe that the possibilities for success are limitless. I look forward to sharing my passion and enthusiasm with you.
